In Reply to: shortage of hay? posted by Lila on November 19, 2001 at 09:42:16:
Where are you at??? I am in MI there doesn't seem to be any shortages here. We do have to be careful however because our spring and fall was plauged by extra rain. The hay grew so thick and tall that it was hard to dry. Also our ground didn't dry because of how thick the hay was, so the hay would be dry on top but wet on the bottem most hay had to be rolled several times. I think we lost about 50 round bales, but were lucky that our supplier puts up what we need before he square bales. He only does special orders and since we were his first client he takes care of us first.
