definatly on the mountain laurel. We had 6 goats that got into it last spring and what mess. The symptoms are they walk around lathargic, like they are on drugs big time, they also become paralized. they vomit and have the scours big time!! Luckely we did not loose any of them. According to our vet it depends on how much they consume. We had one whether who must have consumed the most and the vet was very doubtful that he would make it. But someone was on our side, because he did. They screamed in pain, and literally fell to the ground when they tried to walk. I sat in the house in tears.

I called the vet when I got home and saw the vomiting and the mess. When I gave him the symptoms he immediatly asked if we had any mountain laurel. I told him I didn't know what it was, and within 30 minutes he was here. The first thing he did was go around our property and found one mountain laurel plant and the goats definatly got into it. He gave them meds for pain, and another shot, I forgot what it was. He said the only thing we could do was wait. 3 of our does that got into it was pregnant also. But thankfully the kids came out fine.

He told us to cut the weed but it will grow back..once it does he said to burn it..so we did. It has not come back..and we have checked around and we don't have any more that we can see. Thankfully
~H
