Most people are a little more mechanically inclined and have more time to build a traditional head stantion. If you go to caprine supply online or even nasco, or hoggers (I dont have their addresses bookmarked) or even do a search with milk stands they should have the traditional version picture. It's basically the "v" concept except its all framed in essence and the V is inside the frame - hard to explain with out pictures :-) really try looking online - should be a few sites out there!

With mine - I put grain in the dish, they hop on and the "v" part closes in on the neck till snug. I then put on a double ended snap on the top pieces holding them snug together against the neck. The trick is to keep the boards close enough where the neck can fit, but the doe can't squeeze out. (the top snap, or rope helps keep the head from popping up, you may need different lengths depending on age and size of doe)

my stand really isnt the traditional goat stand, but it was really easy to build and has served me well. Once the does get use to one stantion, they are usually good for them all.
