I went out to the goat house a few hrs ago to try and hand feed Eris a little bit, and she ate some, but not much..she just walks back on over to a comfy place (or as comfy as she can get) and just lays down, and she is breathing hard..not panting..like labor panting..just breathing hard..like she has too much weight to carry..just looks pooped!

So I decided instead of just going into town and hoping that Co-Op has the Proplene Glycol, I would call them first..glad I did..because of course they do not have any..so I called the vet..I really do love our vets!! (smile).

The nurse put the vet right on the phone, and he said he would make up some Proplene Glycol (spelling?? sorry) for her, and a few other things, and that he would also make a wormer shot for her, so as soon as she kids we can worm her. (of course I was so worried, I forgot to ask him about what wormer, which my hubby will find out when he picks up the meds this afternoon) He also told me to try the PG for a few days and if that does not help he may want to induce labor..He said that sometimes they get so big, especially when it is their first time kidding, a lot of times they get to where they can't move around at all..and he would rather induce.

As I was talking to him, I was looking out the back window, and she was walking around a bit..she just can't stand up that long. When I was hand feeding her..she jumped up on the fence, and could stand that way only for a short time..and down she went on all 4's again..

Now if I was not a nervous wreck before hand, I sure am now..Now I know what all you guys mean about wanting to spend the night in the barn w/the goats..LOL..because I am ceriously considering it..Keep your fingers crossed she kids real soon..I really don't want them to induce..Has anyone had to ever have their goats induced before? Just curious about your reactions and thoughts.
