I have had a few that have done the same thing and did just what your vet suggested. In my case it worked, I think Dalice is right and something was just not right with that baby. Seems it has been a hard year for babies. We lost all of our goat babies but one set. The others are well on their way we should have a kid crop in June, should have been Feb. I thought the sheep were fine but I had to break 3 bags and hold one upside down ( I got to her bag late) and do CPR on her. She is fine but very small as is her twin. I think they are survivers of a late term abortion. Lambs born only minutes after they were are easy twice as large maybe even more. Still it's not easy to loose the little ones, sorry about that.
