Hi Diana, this does sound really nasty. If you have any more or if you still have the body of one I think I would have the vet do a necropsy on it to see what the cause is. I have also heard of certain strains of pneumonia with no symptoms just dead goats, and with the discharge you described it could be possible. Have you checked to see if there is a fever in the rest of the herd? Not that they will always run a fever but just thought it wouldn't hurt. Animals in the terminal stages of disease, pneumonia included can have normal to subnormal temps. Keep me posted this tricky one. I sure hope that you come up with something soon. How many are there in the herd?
