Dalice, When I came home from work for lunch, the little doe was dead. I don't know what was wrong she seemed to be bloated. her mouth was foamy she didn't seem to have a snotty nose or wheezing or anything like that. she was current on CDT I had been giving her about ½ bottle of gaot milk she probably could have been weened but she is in with 3 other babies so I just went ahead and fed her a bottle too. I gave her a couple of ounces of mineral oil I thought for sure she was just bloated. she was fine last night. for some reason I woke up real early this morning and I went out to the barn a little after 5 and found her like that, it has me stumped.
My doe that I am not sure about on the expelling of her after birth has me stumped too. she had this stuff hanging from her then yesterday it all dryed and she had this dryed up thing hanging now today all that is gone and she has no discharge at all (shed kidded on Tuesday morning) I didn't find the afterbirth anywhere the only thing I can think of if it is not still inside of her is either she ate it or our border collie ate it she has been know to do gross things like that before. I have been giving the doe penncillin just in case and checking her temp this morning it was 102 tonight it was 103. she is eating and drinking and acting fine so who knows.
sorry this is so long
