Ok I have a wooly "Houdinie" that was pulled from his mom because he found out he could walk through the fence. I milked a couple woolies and mixed the milk with goat milk then put him on goat milk because the woolies were kicking my butt. Now I have a woolie that I can milk w/o much of a problem and am putting him on goat/woolie milk as he is doing ok on goat but could be doing better. My question is Sunday when I milked out "Suffolk1" I got lots of milk (her lamb was pulled Sat. am). Monday I got alot of milk out of the right half but only colostrum out of the left half. My first thought was mastitis but the bag is soft and not at all hot. The milk is smooth and not even a tiny bit chunky. It is yellow (just like woolie colostrum shold be) and very sticky. I am going to move her and "Granny" to a smaller pen so that I can push some feed to them, they both are old and look awful after lambing. Also moving them will help me to milk as goats do not like the woolies at all milking becomes a big production. But if she still has colostrum today I will be collecting it to save. It is possible she could have gotten rebred but even so she would not be due for another 3 months. Any thoughts you all might have would be great. Thanks
